From November 29th to December 1st, 2006, the Claroline team will present the platform at Online Educa Berlin 2006 (Germany), the 12th International Conference on Technology Supported Learning and Training.

Claroline services are now offered on the http://www.claroline.com website : hosting, training, support or specific developments can be assumed by an experimented team involved in the project.

These services are assumed by the CERDECAM Asbl (Research and development center of the ECAM, Belgium) in the context of the project FIRST SPINOFF CIMTESA of the Région wallonne in Belgium.

A basic free hosting is now also possible with the official Claroline campus where people are invited to create a course and use the Claroline platform.

From December 11th to 15th, 2006, the Claroline team will present the platform and its benefits for education to the teachers and all the people involved in higher schools, universities and training in French-speaking Belgium. We will go to Namur, Brussels and Mons.

Claroline will be presented at the Epsilon trade show on November the 23rd, 2006 in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

Epsilon is a place of meeting and exchanges for everyone involved in the training sector.

Guillaume Lederer, Florence Ortmans and Anaïs Hulet will be presenting Claroline in a stand and in a 45 minutes conference. See you over there!

The edition 2006 of the professional trade show dedicated to the uses and applications of ICT for education, will take place from the 15th to the 17th of November 2006, in Paris-Expo, France.

Anaïs Hulet and Mathieu Laurent from the Claroline team (CERDECAM asbl) will be presenting Claroline in a stand of the Open source software village (with OpenOffice, Gepi, Sesamaths, ...). Do not hesitate to visit us!

Only two weeks after the Claroline 1.8 release and thanks to the huge Claroline community feedback, we can now provide you a maintenance release increasing Claroline reliability.

All major bugs reported to us have been fixed and are all in the past now (document download, exercises export and import, ... )

We highly recommand any campus currently using Claroline 1.8 to upgrade to this minor release.

The Forum PHP 2006 will be held the 9 and 10 november in Paris.

Big companies of Internet World will be present, in particular Yahoo! - with the creator of PHP, Rasmus Lerdorf - and Google.

This forum is addressed to all people which develop Web applications. The first day is centered on the functional field, second is directed technical.

This new stable version, that comes with a new logo, offers a bunch of interesting new features :

M. Almario Abenoja, from the Benguet State University (BSU) in Philippines, made a new Teacher Manual in English for Claroline 1.7 : "Using Claroline as an e-learning tool", in order to help the Claroline use in his university.

This state university north of Manila has been using Claroline since 2003, and is planning to extend the use of the platform by training and supporting their staff.

The authority of « Universidad Catolica del Norte » (UCN) decided some days ago to adopt Claroline. The main argument for this choice was the simplicity of use of Claroline in a multidisciplinary university. This simplicity allows the teacher to devote his energy where it matters most : the students learning and the quality of university teaching.

The UCN in Antofagasta (North of Chile) has different locations in North Chile : Coquimbo, San Pedro de Atacama and Santiago. This university has already a long collaboration with the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) which is the initial developer of Claroline. This collaboration includes pedagogical and technological trainings in the fields of university teachers development.
