This is not an April fool : a serious security hole has just been been detected in Claroline 1.7.*, 1.6.* and 1.5.* (previous Claroline versions are not affected by these flaws).
We seriously advise all people using Claroline 1.7 to patch their platform as soon as possible.
Download the patches at these addresses :
How to apply the patch
- Uncompress the zip archive file 'claroline.patch1**01.zip'.
- Copy the 'claroline' directory found inside that archive on the 'claroline' directory already available on your web server.

Thursday, 23 February 2006 |
Eric Uyttebroeck from the "Centre des technologies au service de
l'enseignement" (CTE) of the Free University of Brussels (ULB) has just published a thorough analysis of Claroline
1.7.
Eric achieved a similar work with Thierry Henau in 2003 for
Claroline 1.4. This new 74 pages article is a complete overhaul of the previous
one. It assesses Claroline 1.7 features one by one and gives documented and
argued comments that may prove useful for the decision maker.
