Two new Consortium members

Two French Universities, Bordeaux 1 and Montpellier 2, have applied for being full members of the Claroline Consortium and their candidatures have been accepted by the Board of Directors.

So, we are pleased to welcome these renowned institutions which will reinforce undoubtedly the potential of development of the Consortium, contributing actively to the development of the new version of the platform which will be undertaken during the very next users conference.

 
ACCU 2009: Claroline for everyone

In order to allow everyone to meet the Claroline community, the first half-day of ACCU 2009 (May 18th, welcoming since 13h45) will be opened to everybody: a real opportunity to hear Florence Meichel, Open University (Milton Keynes), speak about « Learning in digital age : from LMS to Learning environment ».


Only one condition for that : to be registered as soon as possible by sending an e-mail to the address accu@claroline.net , giving your Name, Firstname, Institution, E-Mail Address and mentioning « ACCU 2009 Inaugural conference ».

Claroline 1.9 RC5 released

The fifth release candidate for Claroline 1.9 is now available for testing. This version includes some new features and improvements. New Bulgarian and Chinese translations are available. We have also added some new options in the course properties allowing a platform administrator to control the availability of courses on the platform. 

This version should still not be considered as stable and therefore must not be used in production.

You are invited to test it and report any bug or suggestion on the Claroline forum.

BTC and Claroline

 BTC is the Belgian development cooperation agency. On behalf of the Belgian federal government, BTC supports developing countries in their fight against poverty. Thanks to her field expertise, BTC also provides services on behalf of other national and international organizations contributing to sustainable human development.

BTC uses a Claroline platform to manage the training of the technical co-operation experts, preparing them for their field activities, but also to build a staff community using the platform to share experience and best practices.

Within this framework, BTC recruits a new collaborator with pedagogical skills for a permanent contract. The description of function and profile can be found on the BTC website. Deadline for application: March 29th, 2009. (See the project and the vacancy ).

 

 
Blaise Pascal University joins Claroline Consortium

The Board of Directors of Claroline Consortium is very happy to announce that Blaise Pascal University (Clermont-Ferrand, France) has joined the Claroline Consortium as full member.


Welcome to this university, a Claroline project partner for a long time.  No doubt that the contributions of its teams will be of great interest for the development of the future version of Claroline.

 

 
Claroline 1.9 RC4 released

The fourth release candidate for Claroline 1.9 is available for testing. This version includes a major performance fix in the module management system and fixes some bugs found in the previous release candidates.

This version should still not be considered as stable and therefore must not be used in production.

ACCU 2009

ACCU2009The next annual conference of Claroline users will be held in Brussels, Haute Ecole Léonard de Vinci, from 18th to 20th of May 2009. It will be a good opportunity to exchange information dealing with best practices of platform use in various contexts and organizations, but also and mainly to define the future version of Claroline together.


Please, book those dates from now on and have a frequent look at the website where detailed information will be published regularly to present practical modalities for conference organization.

 
Ecole Centrale of Lyon joins Claroline Consortium

The Board of Directors of Claroline Consortium is very proud to announce that Ecole Centrale of Lyon (France) has joined the Claroline Consortium as full member. We all welcome this prestigious institution whose contributions will be undoubtly beneficial for the development of the future version of Claroline.

Let us note too that other new full members will be announced in the next few weeks and that Claroline Consortium will examine positively all membership demands that would be introduced.

 
Claroline RC3 available for testing
