This new stable version of the Claroline Open Source LMS comes with a lot of new features : a user desktop, an internal messaging system, a templating system for the display... Many parts of the code have been refactored or completely rewritten for this release. The upgrade from Claroline 1.7 or 1.8 is available. As it was announced the support of PHP 4 as been dropped and the platform now requires PHP 5.1.6 and or PHP 5.2.x (recommended). You can read the complete changelog on our wiki. You can post any issue or ask for help with Claroline 1.9 on the support forum. It is now time for the module developers to start to test and adapt their modules for new platform and for translators to complete the language files. Thanks in advance.I will now be replaced by Dimitri Rambout who will be the release and maintenance manager for the rest of the lifecycle of Claroline 1.9
