Claroline 1.11 alpha released

Finally, here's the alpha release of Claroline 1.11 !

Do not hesitate to try it and send us your feedback. Of course, this is an alpha version for testing purpose: do *NOT* use it on a production/running infrastructure.
Also, note that this new version does not require any database upgrade from Claroline 1.10. So if you want to try an upgrade, just replace the files as explained in the INSTALL.txt (section 2.2) and you are good to go !

Full documentation and changelog will come later (with RC).

ACCU 2012 - Lyon

Every year, the Claroline community meets at the Annual Conference of Claroline Users (ACCU). It's a unique opportunity to get in touch with users and developers from other countries, to share experiences and achievements, and to discuss about the future versions of Claroline.

In 2012, the Annual Conference of Claroline Users (ACCU) will take place at the Lyon Convention Centre (France), from April 18th till April 20th, 2012. The conference will be an official track of the World Wide Web 2012 event.

This year, the main topic of the conference will be "Claroline: sharing knowledge as a passion". We will give a specific attention to various topics dealing with user's concerns and also go further with the definition of the future next version of Claroline.

The Claroline Community members who wish to present their own realizations or experiences are invited to submit a communication proposal to the Conference Scientific Committee (Deadlinefor sending communication proposals : February 15th, 2012).

Day of Claroline users - Namur - March 7

The Claroline Consortium invite you to the day of Claroline users in the Federation Wallonia-Brussels. This meeting will take place in Namur on March 7 (Council Chambers of the City of Namur - Rue de Fer) from 13.30 to 17.30. After a conference by the Prof. Marcel Lebrun on the challenges of e-learning, we will be communications of some teachers and trainers who use the platform on their courses (basic education, secondary, superior and social advancement), and before finishing the afternoon with a glass of friendship, we will give you more informations about the future version of Claroline.

At the end of this year 2011, the Claroline Consortium and the development teams address to all Claroline Community their best wishes for a very pleasant Christmas day and for a year 2012 full of joy and various successes.

For the Claroline Community, this next year will be very intense, through the new version of Claroline (projet Claronext), the first conference of Claroline latin-american users in Antofagasta (Chile) on march, the annual conference of Claroline users in Lyon on april during the International week of the Web, new full members joining the Claroline Consortium (why not you ?) and a lot of other events and various announcements that will delight all Claroline users.

We also intend to listen to you and your needs. So, do not hesitate to use the users forums to make suggestions, to communicate about your practices and to propose your developments.

L'équipe Claroline prépare une après-midi de rencontre entre les utilisateurs belges de Claroline. Elle se déroulera à Namur le mercredi 7 mars 2012.
Le programme détaillé de cette rencontre sera publié début janvier.

Intéressé par une communication sur l'utilisation de Claroline dans le cadre de votre projet pédagogique ? N'hésitez par à prendre contact avec Michel Damay, animateur de la communauté Claroline.
