La Biblioteca de la Indias Electrónicas launched a campaign last year to collect funds for translating Claroline in three Amerindian languages : Guarani, Quechua and Aymara.

The success of this campaign led to the complete translation of the platform into Guarani, the 35th language of Claroline. Guarani is one of the official languages of Paraguay and is also spoken by communities in neighbouring countries (around 6 million speakers in total).

The translations in Quechua and Aymara are in process. Thank you to Manuel Fernández from the Guaraní Renda association for his effective work, and to La Biblioteca de la Indias Electrónicas for this initiative which deserves all our attention!

The Claroline team invites you to an information session at Technifutur, Liège (Belgium) on April 17, 2007.

On the programme : a presentation of eLearning in companies, an overview of Claroline, an experience sharing, and information about the eLearning trainings at Technifutur and the grants for companies.

Mathieu Laurent and Anaïs Hulet from the Claroline team will present the platform to the next trade show Intertice on April 4 at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, Paris.

Intertice is a meeting about pedagogical uses in Ile-de-France. It will give the opportunity to the educational community to gather and discuss about the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) for education.

The Belgian financial newspaper L’Echo wrote a short article about Claroline after visiting our stand at the Solutions RH last week in Paris.

On March 17th, Marie Arena (Minister-president of the French Community in Belgium) organizes the first Rendez-vous “Ecoles et nouvelles technologies” in Technifutur, Liège. More than 45 workshops will give the opportunity to the teachers from elementary and secondary school to discover real projects presented by other teachers who experienced them with their class. More pedagogical activities and tools will be presented on 30 stands.

Philippe Mercenier and Sébastien Piraux from the Claroline team will be there to present and promote Claroline.

Philippe Roy, a Claroline French user adapted the Tango icon set for Claroline 1.8.

This set is available on the Claroline website. Thanks to Tango, you can change the original icons of Claroline and modify its look.

What is Tango?

The Tango Desktop Project wants to unify the icons’ style of the Open Source applications thanks to a clear graphical charter. It exists to help create a consistent graphical user interface for free and Open Source software, it proposes an icon theme by default, a style guide with a color’s range and instructions to have icons with the same look.
